April 12, 2007
The Berkley Center for Religion, Peace and World Affairs

The Seminar on Religion and Global Development, inaugurated last year, is co-sponsored by the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs and the Initiative on International Development (Mortara Center). It is a forum for Georgetown faculty and members of the policy community to meet and discuss questions at the intersection of religion and international development.

Stephen Schwenke is a Quaker, and an international development practitioner and educator with over two decades of international experience. His role has varied from architecture and urban planning, to being an advisor on democracy and governance, and now as an ethicist. His project work covers more than 30 countries, including 14 years of experience while a resident in developing countries (Kenya, South Africa, Uganda). Currently Dr. Schwenke is the senior consultant in international development ethics with the Inter-American Development Bank.
