IS GOD “GREEN”?
An Interfaith Discussion on Religion & the Environment

Is man the steward of Creation or just another part of nature? If we are to say that he has a duty to the environment, in light of current scientific concerns, what role does religion say that man must play in taking care of the environment, enabling a “sustainable” future? What does this also imply for the ability of religions to work together toward such a common goal? Is God green? Join us as we tackle these questions in an interfaith panel discussion on the various perspectives world religions take on the environment.

Our panel of speakers will include the following:

Rabbi Harold White
Jewish Chaplaincy Director /Senior Jewish Chaplain

Father Dennis McManus
Visiting Assistant Professor, Theology Department
Chaplain-in-Residence, Alumni Square

Imam Yahya Hendi
Muslim Chaplaincy Director

Reverend Bryant Oskvig
Protestant Chaplain

Hugh Byrne, Ph.D
Contributing Buddhist Minister
Co-Founder, Washington Buddhist Peace Fellowship

Please come with an open mind and thoughtful questions. Refreshments will be provided by Campus Fresh.
