John L. Jackson, Jr. discussed his fieldwork exploring how Black Hebrew Israelites in New York City, Washington, DC, and Israel construct a globally diverse, spiritual community, as well as their implications for the Black Diaspora. This event was part of the 2007-2008 Berkley Center for Religion, Peace and World Affairs Lecture Series on Religion, Identity, and Race, which featured well-known anthropologists of religion and politics from major universities.
