Who is Jesus? Muslim and Christian Reflections

This spirited discussion between Imam Mohamed Magid and Dr. Nigel M. de S. Cameron explored points of agreement and discord between the Islamic and Christian traditions on the person of Jesus and his relevance for interfaith dialogue today. While Jesus occupies an important place in both traditions, each religion also differs significantly in its approach to who he was. For Christians Jesus is both an historical figure and the son of God; a great teacher, he was also crucified and raised from the dead as part of the divine plan. Muslims acknowledge Jesus as a great prophet along with Moses and Mohammed ( the last and greatest among them.). They view Jesus as a great teacher, a theme in both the Qur'an and Muslim tradition, but they deny his divinity.
