Guillermo Soto

Guillermo Soto is the National Director of Fe y Alegría Chile, where he directs, coordinates, and supervises their ongoing operations, including relations with the International Federation of Fe y Alegría. A commercial engineer by trade, Soto has worked in social justice programs in and around Santiago for over 17 years. He's a member of the Community of Christian Life (CVX), a community of lay people inspired by Ignatian spirituality; from that he received his religious training and the Ignatian “mark” that has driven him, together with his family, to work for and with society’s poorest. Soto worked as a volunteer and president with the Cerro Navia Youth Foundation (Fundación Cerro Navia Joven), working in one of the poorest urban communities in the metropolitan region for 16 years. In July of 2009 he was named to his post at Fe y Alegría Chile.
