Hady Amr
Hady Amr is director of the Brookings Doha Center in Qatar and a senior fellow in Foreign Policy at the Saban Center for Middle East Policy at the Brookings Institution. His expertise includes: US relations with the Islamic World; Arab-Israeli conflict; American foreign policy in the Middle East; politics in Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, and Iran; Sunni-Shia relations; and economic and social development in the Arab World. He is also a senior advisor for the World Economic Forum Council of 100 Leaders on Western-Islamic World Relations. He is a presidential appointee at the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies, U.S. Department of Defense and an economist and consultant for UNICEF and the World Bank. He participated in the symposium on “Global Development and Faith-Inspired Organizations in the Muslim World,” co-sponsored by the Berkley Center, in December 2007.
