Ashton Adams

A lifelong resident of Kansas, Ashton Adams is a junior at the University of Kansas where she is majoring in Global and International Studies with a minor in African Studies. She actively works to foster understanding across political and cultural divisions on campus, starting in her time with the Dole Institute of Politics and continuing in her position as the Vice President of the University of Kansas Model United Nations program. Ashton ultimately hopes to work in women’s development to more fully integrate women into the economic and political systems in the developing world, a topic she has previously explored, among others, while blogging for the International Relations Council of Kansas City. She is also particularly interested in the role of faith communities in the political and cultural development of nation-states and is an active member in her home parish of St. Anne’s Catholic Church.
