Catalina Delgado Aleman is a fourth, fifth, and sixth grade teacher at the public school in Los Pozos, Nueva Trinidad, Chalatenango in El Salvador. She began her teaching career during the El Salvador civil war with a seventh grade education and zero classroom experience. As one of the first popular educators in the region, she was trained by the local parish until receiving her teaching degree from the University of El Salvador in 1999. She continues to work at the school at which she began, motivated by her desire to help the children and her local community.
