Christopher Hitchens (1949-2011) was a journalist, commentator, and foreign correspondent who was a contributing editor to the Atlantic Monthly and Vanity Fair. He also wrote for Slate and the Daily Mirror and authored numerous books. A longtime contributor to the Nation, he wrote a biweekly column from 1982 to 2002.
