Lamin Sanneh was the D. Willis James Professor of Missions and World Christianity and professor of history at Yale University until his death in January 2019. His fields of expertise included the history of religion in Africa; cross-cultural studies; religion, language, and society; and the history of Islam. He was a founding member of the World Economic Forum's Council of 100 Leaders.
