Loubna El Amine is assistant professor in the Political Science Department at Northwestern University. She previously was an assistant professor in the Department of Government at Georgetown University, where she was a faculty fellow at the Berkley Center from 2015 to 2016. Her research and teaching is in political theory, with a particular focus on early Chinese political thought. El Amine previously was a Mellon postdoctoral fellow at the Whitney Humanities Center at Yale University. She is the author of Classical Confucian Political Thought: A New Interpretation (2015), as well as articles and book reviews in the Journal Of New Media Studies in the Middle East and North Africa, Perspectives on Politics, Dao: A Journal of Comparative Philosophy, and the International Journal of Middle East Studies. El Amine holds a B.A. from the American University of Beirut and a Ph.D. from Princeton University.
