Madison Ashley graduated from Georgetown's School of Foreign Service in 2016 with a major in culture and politics and a concentration in minority identity and integration. Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, she studied abroad in Rabat, Morocco during the fall 2014 semester, where she experienced the confluence of European, Maghrebian, and Berber cultures and blogged for the Junior Year Abroad Network. On campus, Madison was a coordinator with Outdoor Education, a contributing editor to the Hoya, and on the board of the Astronomical Society. She is currently serving as a Jesuit Volunteer with Refugee Assistance and Immigration Services in Anchorage, Alaska. In her work resettling refugees and asylees on the frontiers of the United States, she has had the privilege of orienting new arrivals and herself to the physical and cultural landscape of their new shared home.
