Ryan Price

Ryan Price is a senior at Drake University majoring in Politics with a minor in Rhetoric/Communication Studies From a very young age, Ryan Price has always been fascinated with American democracy. Entering college, Ryan intended to study journalism but came to the belief that modern journalism was part of the systemic problems of American democracy today; he instead eagerly sought work experience to gain deeper exposure to American democracy. He went on to intern at the Iowa Statehouse in the Senate Communications Office before interning at the White House in the Office of Legislative Affairs. Ryan’s beliefs on religion in public life are constantly changing due to his long “coming out” process hampered by religion. An outspoken advocate for LGBT rights and social justice causes, Ryan was one of forty college students across the U.S. to participate in the 2011 Student Freedom Ride sponsored by PBS.
