William F. Shulz is the president and CEO of the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee, an adjunct professor of public administration at the Wagner School of Public Service at New York University, and an affiliated professor at Meadville/Lombard Theological School at the University of Chicago. He was formerly the executive director of Amnesty International USA from 1994 to 2006; prior to that he spent 15 years with the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations (including eight as president). Shulz is the contributing editor of The Future of Human Rights: U.S. Policy for a New Era (2008), as well as the author of In Our Own Best Interests: How Defending Human Rights Benefits Us All (2002) and Tainted Legacy: 9/11 and the Ruin of Human Rights (2003). Schulz is a graduate of Oberlin College, holds a master's degree from the University of Chicago, and DDM from Meadville/Lombard Theological School.
