"Faith and Maternal Mortality" Meeting Report
June 15, 2011
On June 15, 2011, the WFDD and Berkley Center hosted a consultation exploring the faith dimensions of maternal mortality to better understand the actions and experiences of religious institutions and leaders in the sector. Building off a recent WFDD draft report on the topic, the discussion focused on the role of faith-inspired organizations in maternal mortality work and the links with child marriage, girls' education, and women's economic empowerment. This summary captures the broad themes, challenges, and strategies that emerged during the conversation.
