Luce/SFS Program Annual Report 2006-2007
August 14, 2007
The Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service was the recipient of a first two-year grant from the Henry Luce Foundation's Initiative on Religion and International Affairs in 2006-08. A between SFS and the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs, the Luce/SFS program initially examined two crucial topic areas in-depth: the religious sources of foreign policy in comparative perspective; and the evolving relationship between religion and global development. This report tracks the first year of the program, with a focus on faculty experts, curricular innovation, student research, and the development of online databases. Key milestones included the recruitment of Katherine Marshall and Thomas Farr to lead the implementation of the Luce/SFS program.
