Luce/SFS Program Annual Report 2007-2008
December 5, 2008
The Luce/SFS Program on Religion and International Affairs Annual Report 2007-2008 outlines activities supported by the Henry Luce Foundation and carried out through collaboration between the Berkley Center and the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service. The Luce/SFS program supports research, teaching, and outreach in two areas: Religion and US Foreign Policy and Religion and Global Development. 2007-08 highlights included a seminar on Islam, Constitutions, and Durable Democracy; symposia in Doha and The Hague on faith-inspired organizations and global development; two conferences on the 1998 International Religious Freedom Act and its legacies; and the publication of "Challenges of Change: Faith, Gender, and Development." Other initiatives included undergraduate and graduate course offerings; graduate student research fellowships; interactive online databases; and a series of reports on topics including faith-inspired organizations in development and religion in Israeli state and society.
