This report provides an overview of the Luce/SFS Program on Religion
and International Affairs program achievements in 2008-09 and sketches its
future direction. Highlights include: a regional consultation in Latin America on religion
and development; issue surveys covering shelter, malaria, and governance; a symposium
on the future of U.S. religious freedom policy that culminated in recommendations for
the Obama administration; a three-day seminar for educators at The National Defense
University on "The Religious Sources of Conflict"; and the publication of new online
knowledge resources for scholars, students, policymakers, and citizens.
