International Congress 2008: Religious Liberty, the Source of All Liberties

The 2008 International Congress of the Argentine Council for Religious Freedom (CALIR) took place April 28-29, 2008 in Buenos Aires. A number of papers on topics related to religious freedom in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa were presented, with particular emphasis on Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, the US, and South Africa. Subjects included the interplay between religious freedom and freedom of conscience, and religious freedom from the perspectives of different faith traditions. The Congress also issued the Declaración Calir, a manifesto promoting religious freedom in Argentina and abroad.
