International Inter-religious Conference Faith in Human Rights

The "International Inter-religious Conference Faith in Human Rights" brought together international religious leaders in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Sponsored by Justitia et Pax (Justice and Peace Netherlands) and Stek, with support from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the conference culminated in the public signing of the statement "Faith in Human Rights." Notable signatories included the Dalai Lama, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, Rev. Dr. Samuel Kobia of the World Council of Churches, and Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams; representatives of Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and indigenous religions also participated in the signing ceremony.
