BAPS Charities

BAPS Charities (formerly BAPS Care International) is the relief wing of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, a movement that emphasizes the symbiotic relationship between spiritual purity and social service. The organization's mission is to serve the global community by expanding access to education and healthcare, providing disaster relief and rehabilitation, initiating environmental projects, and other humanitarian services. It also seeks to empower and educate underprivileged girls and young women in local communities. Programs include an anti-dowry campaign, medical camps and seminars, leadership and personality development training camps, self-employment programs, girls' summer camps, marriage counseling, and child-rearing seminars. Although it is a Hindu organization, BAPS Charities' activities extend beyond the Hindu community to include, for example, the donation of medicine and supplies to earthquake victims in El Salvador; it operates in 13 countries.
