Gumilla Center

The Gumilla Center (Centro Gumilla) aims to transform Venezuela into a more just and humane society. Founded in 1968, it is part of an effort of the Catholic Church to engage Venezuelan communities in social justice. Gumilla is a Center for Research and Social Action (CIAS) of the Society of Jesus in Venezuela, dedicated primarily to contribute to the achievement of justice that comes from faith. Gumilla facilitates dialogue in Venezuelan society and contributes to consensus building on key areas of national life; promotes the creation of alliances among intellectuals, professionals, institutions and people; and contributes to the reconstruction of democratic institutions.
