George H.W. Bush
George H.W. Bush was the 41st President of the United States, serving from 1989-1993. President Bush’s presidency was highlighted by the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the Soviet Union. Bush also led the United States in two armed conflicts, the first against Panama and the second against the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. George H. W. Bush is an Episcopalian and often attended St. John’s Episcopal Church during his presidency. In the lead up to Operation Desert Storm, President Bush was at odds with Protestant clergy who opposed warfare, clashing with them in the media about the morality of war.
