Ron Paul
Ronald "Ron" Paul is an obstetrician, gynecologist, and US Congressman from Texas who unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination for president in 2012. He founded the non-profit advocacy group "Campaign for Liberty" and has written numerous books, including End the Fed (2009) and The Revolution: A Manifesto (2008). A staunch conservative, Constitutionalist, and libertarian, Paul was a major inspiration behind the Tea Party political movement. Paul unsuccessfully ran for President as a third party candidate in 1988 before seeking the Republican nomination for President in 2008. A converted Baptist, Paul strongly opposes federal government involvement in religious matters and has argued against the current judicial interpretation of the separation of church and state. He is the father of five, including Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky.
