Wilfred McClay
Wilfred McClay holds the SunTrust Bank Chair of Excellence in Humanities and is a professor of history at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He also holds a position on the National Council on the Humanities and the advisory board for the National Endowment for the Humanities and is a Senior Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Professor McClay is the author of several books, including The Masterless: Self and Society in Modern America, The Student’s Guide to U.S. History, and Religion Returns to the Public Square: Faith and Policy in America. Professor McClay serves on the editorial or advisory boards of The Wilson Quarterly, First Things, Historically Speaking, The New Atlantis, and The City.
