Wisdom Shelter Ameku

Reverend Wisdom Shelter Ameku has spearheaded the creation of 15 schools and 60 churches throughout Ghana, focusing on aiding ex-fetish slaves, former prisoners, and needy children in Ghana’s Volta and Eastern Regions. He was born in 1961, and as a teenager embraced the Baptist Church and began his long career of religious and humanitarian work. He graduated from Maranatha Bible College in 1990 and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Theology in 2008 from Phillipine Baptist Theological Seminary. Reverend Ameku served as Chairman of the South Volta Baptist Association for eight years, and is currently the Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Aflao, the Chairman of the Ketu Ministers Fellowship, and the Executive Director of Good News for Africa non-denominational church-planting ministry. Reverend Ameku is the Founder and current Director of the First Baptist Preparatory School and Orphanage of Aflao, Ghana, where he now lives with his wife.
