Initiative on Religion in International Affairs
The Initiative on Religion in International Affairs (RIIA) at Harvard University's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs conducts a rigorous investigation of the role of religion in international affairs to augment and inform broader scholarship and policymaking. To this end, the initiative develops and offers academic courses, faculty seminars, executive training services, and research projects dedicated to advancing knowledge about religion and its role in international relations and foreign policy. Associated researchers also publish newspaper op-eds, journal articles, and books on related topics. As part of the Belfer Center's International Security Program fellowship competition, the RIIA project offers research funds to top graduate students in this field. The initiative was made possible through a grant from the Henry R. Luce Initiative in Religion and International Affairs.
