Development and Faith: Where Mind, Heart and Soul Work Together

June 29, 2007
In Development and Faith: Where Mind, Heart and Soul Work Together, Katherine Marshall and Marisa Van Saanen draw on their extensive experience at the World Bank to discuss the ways in which faith and development are connected. The book highlights important roles of faith leaders in poor communities and promising partnerships between secular and faith-based development groups. The authors also promote the Millennium Development Goals as a common rallying point and impetus for cooperative action. Several chapters, notably a review of the West Africa Tostan experience, focus specifically on gender issues.
