Abigail Clauhs
Originally from South Carolina, Abigail Clauhs has already firmly established her
presence at Boston University as a junior majoring in Religion and minoring
in English and Anthropology. She leads the Boston University Interfaith Council,
coordinating interfaith discussions and organizing interfaith service opportunities
among multiple Boston-area colleges. She also has a love for community service that
has led her to rebuild homes after Hurricane Katrina, teach classes to immigrants and
refugees in Boston, and fight for the rights of international seafarers in American ports
at the Charleston Port & Seafarers’ Society. An ardent proponent of social justice and
international cooperation, she is always eager to start a conversation about human rights,
politics, or even what is trending on Twitter. After graduation, Abigail hopes to do
humanitarian work in the nonprofit/NGO world in an interfaith context. In 2012 she was a Millennial Values Fellow in conjunction with the Berkley Center's project on young Americans, faith, and values.
