"The New Republic of South Sudan - Primary Challenges, Paths to Development" Meeting Report
September 15, 2011
On September 15, 2011, the Berkley Center of Religion, Peace, and World Affairs and World Faiths Development Dialogue (WFDD) hosted a panel discussion with three distinguished and directly engaged actors, to examine the complex intersection of development policy and practice in the newly independent Republic of South Sudan. Formal presentations, and the lively conversation that followed, highlighted the common perspectives on the current situation, priorities, and underlying challenges facing South Sudan, as well as significant differences. This meeting report summarizes the central arguments and areas of convergence and divergence that emerged during the presentations and discussion.
