Call for Applications: Global Refugees and Migration Project Student Fellows

July 19, 2018

Applications are now closed.

With support from Georgetown University’s Board of Regents, the Berkley Center and the Institute for the Study of International Migration (ISIM) will launch a new initiative to better understand and promote policies of inclusion and integration of refugees and migrants at the community level. The initiative will include two conferences (to take place in fall 2018 and spring 2019), an edited volume of research on policies and narratives of inclusion, and student engagement through a fellows program.

The Berkley Center and ISIM are now seeking applications from undergraduate and graduate students to be Global Refugees and Migration Project Fellows. Applicants must be current Georgetown students. Student fellows will support faculty research on migration and refugee projects, assist in the planning operations related to the two conferences, assist in website and publication development, and contribute to communication efforts by writing blogs and using social media through the 2018-2019 academic year. Student fellows are expected to work approximately 10 hours per week under the supervision of Berkley Center/ISIM faculty and staff and will be paid for their work.

Interested students should submit a letter indicating their interest in the project, a CV, and the names and contact information of two references by August 15, 2018, to elizabeth.ferris@georgetown.edu. Berkley Center and ISIM staff will review the applications and inform applicants of the decision by August 23, 2018.
