International Prayer for Peace - 2010
Held in Barcelona, Spain on October 3-5, 2010, the International Prayer for Peace 2010, sponsored by the Community of Sant'Egidio, focused on the theme "Living Together in a Time of Crisis: Family of Peoples, Family of God." The gathering emphasized religion as a source of hope in uncertain times and drew participants from across Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and other Asian religions. Panel discussions addressed issues including like religion and the family, the search for peace among Israelis and Palestinians, the ethics of globalization and charitable giving in a market economy, how global media speaks about religion in the world, and the relationship between humanity and the environment. Participants also considered urban life, Christian unity, Jewish-Christian and Muslim-Christian dialogue, religiously inspired responsibilities towards migrants, and religion in Asia.
