The Role of Religion in Global Civil Society: A Latin America/Caribbean Focus

The workshop on "The Role of Religion in Global Civil Society: A Latin America/Caribbean Focus" brought together academics and practitioners to discuss how religion affects political life and NGO engagement in the region. Panel discussions addressed the role of religion in public life, its influence on humanitarian work, and integrating religion into academic research on Latin America and the Caribbean. The workshop is part of the Religion in Global Civil Society project at the University of California-Santa Barbara's Orfalea Center for Global and International Studies, with funding from the Henry Luce Foundation.
