Africa Muslims Agency

The Africa Muslims Agency (AMA) is an Islamic humanitarian organization active throughout Africa. In addition to providing emergency aid to victims of violent conflict and natural disaster, it drills wells, sponsors orphans, conducts medical clinics, and supports education at all levels. Other initiatives include vocational training, agricultural cooperatives, and handicrafts production centers. AMA also establishes mosques and community centers and distributes Islamic publications; a radio station broadcasts educational programs in 10 languages. Founded in 1981, the Africa Muslim Agency is funded primarily by Kuwaiti aid (especially via Direct Aid International) and dawah donations from Muslims.
