Through innovative and collaborative projects, the AVINA Foundation (Fundacíon AVINA) works for the promotion of sustainable development in Latin America. The organization believes that the two keys to positive change lie in placing value on public goods and transitioning toward a new economy that preserves natural wealth and protects social progress. Core areas of focus include sustainable recycling, sustainable cities, energy, access to water, migrations, and the South American Chaco; its programs also emphasize Amazonian strategies, extractive industries, and democratic institutions. AVINA invests in social capital, operational excellence, intellectual capital, and communication in 21 Latin American countries. Though secular, AVINA partners with many faith-based organizations and recognizes the importance of cultural sensitivity and solidarity in achieving its goals of full human dignity and individual, social, and environmental harmony.
