Baptist International Missions
Founded in 1960, Baptist International Missions, Inc. (BIMI) supports missionaries who work to establish local churches, either directly or through their work with day schools, youth camps, and Bible colleges. BIMI stresses local capacity-building and leadership training for indigenous leaders and currently supports 1,000 missionaries in 100 countries worldwide. The organization also oversees short term missions programs, provides aviation transportation services, runs churches for overseas military personnel, distributes aid and disaster relief, and supports mission education for the deaf. The Open Door Project focuses on raising awareness about the opportunities for Christians to serve as missionaries overseas, especially in areas like Latin America, the Caribbean, and Oceania.
