Christian Aid

Christian Aid is a relief and development organization, officially named in 1964, which combines advocacy campaigns with grassroots implementation in over 60 countries affected by severe poverty. HIV/AIDS interventions focus on community-based health care, support and care for orphans and vulnerable children, and mainstreaming HIV/AIDS into emergency and post-conflict relief. Christian Aid is also heavily engaged in global advocacy efforts to raise awareness of climate change. Other initiatives address unjust trade practices, democracy and human rights, and peace efforts in countries such as India and Afghanistan. Christian Aid's 2013 "Big IF" event in partnership with Enough Food For Everyone drew tens of thousands of supporters to rally for dialogue on global hunger at the upcoming G8 conference. Christian Aid is also a member of of Action by Churches Together, the Stop AIDS Campaign, and the Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance.
