National Interfaith Council of South Africa
The National Interfaith Council of South Africa (NICSA) is a network encompassing all South African faith-based organizations that aims to promote family integrity and social cohesion through dialogue, education, and campaigns focused on health and drug abuse prevention. The organization contributes to the fight against HIV/AIDS through "interventions," including advocacy programs that range from youth clubs to workshops on fatherhood; maternal and child health promotion; and powerful public information campaigns. Founded upon a drive for moral regeneration that spurs social development, NICSA works closely with the South African government and collaborates with media and businesses for social mobilization. NICSA was formed by the merger of the National Religious Leaders Forum and the National Interfaith Leaders Council.
