Ratanak International

Ratanak International is a faith-based NGO that works primarily to prevent the sexual abuse and trafficking of children in Cambodia and to rescue and rehabilitate those that are trafficked. Founded in 1990 by Brian McConaghy, Ratanak currently runs a rehabilitation center and foster care for young girls rescued from brothels, along with a sex worker outreach center offering medical care, vocational training, counseling, and housing assistance; it also educates communities about child trafficking and ways to prevent it. Other efforts support healthcare, orphanages, drug abuse prevention, HIV/AIDS home care, an overnight shelter for elderly women, disaster relief, and agricultural development. In addition, Ratanak partners with the Christian and Missionary Alliance to support hospitals and emergency medical services and with Prison Fellowship Cambodia to provide educational opportunities and spiritual guidance to inmates.
