Kawther Berhanu is an undergraduate student in the College, class of 2019, pursuing a major in government and a double minor in Arabic and justice and peace studies. Outside of the classroom, she can be found bringing communities together through serving on the boards of the African Society and Muslim Student Association. She also enjoys planning interfaith events with Campus Ministry and conducting research with the Bridge Initiative. During the spring 2018 semester, Berhanu studied abroad in Amman, Jordan and blogged with the Junior Year Abroad Network. She was excited to share her experiences in the Middle East while improving her Arabic and eating obscene amounts of knafeh, inshallah.
