Marty Lederman is an associate professor at the Georgetown University Law Center. He worked on issues related to religious liberty as deputy assistant attorney general in the Department of Justice's Office of Legal Counsel from 2009 to 2010, and as an attorney advisor in OLC from 1994-2002. He has published on Burwell v. Hobby Lobby, Inc. and related cases involving RFRA challenges to the contraceptive coverage rule. He also coordinated a 2012 symposium, jointly sponsored by the Berkley Center and the Georgetown University Law Center, on “Contraception and Conscience: A Symposium on Religious Liberty, Women’s Health, and the HHS Rule on Provision of Birth Control Coverage for Employees.” He is a regular contributor to several blogs and web sites, including Balkinization, Just Security, SCOTUSblog, and Opinio Juris.
