Muhammad Al-Sammak is Secretary General of the Christian-Muslim Committee for Dialogue in Lebanon and Co-President of Religions for Peace. He also serves as an advisor to Lebanon's chief mufti. Al-Sammak argues strongly for dialogue based on an understanding that no one has a monopoly on the truth. In 2010, he spoke to a Catholic Synod of Bishops for the Middle East (including Pope Benedict XVI) on contemporary Christian-Muslim relations. Al-Sammak was one of the signatories in October 2007 of A Common Word Between Us and You, a letter addressed to Christian leaders in an appeal for peace and cooperation between the two world religions. He is also a signatory of The Amman Message, which affirms the commonalities among all Muslim sects and condemns accusations of apostasy.
