Tomás Álvarez Belón is an undergraduate in Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service, class of 2018, majoring in science, technology, and international affairs with a concentration in security. Belón's parents are Spanish, and he grew up in Mexico, Japan, Spain, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Belón is passionate about how education and social entrepreneurship can stimulate growth and cohesion in the twenty-first century. In addition, he is dedicated to furthering the understanding of complex refugee issues and has worked with Proactiva Open Arms in Lesbos, Greece, as a lifeguard. At the Berkley Center he is a 2016-2017 Doyle undergraduate fellow.
