Zaghloul al-Naggar

Dr. Zaghloul al-Naggar is a professor of Geology at King Abd al-Aziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and head of the Committee on Scientific Facts in the Glorious Qur’an within the Supreme Council on Islamic Affairs, based in Egypt. Born in Gharbiyab, Egypt, al-Naggar was educated at Cairo University and earned his doctorate in Geology from the University of Wales. In addition to his scientific work, he has written extensively on the congruity between scientific discoveries and the Qur'an, the crisis of education in Muslim countries, and Islamic approaches to education reform. He was one of the signatories in October 2007 of A Common Word Between Us and You, a letter addressed to Christian leaders in an appeal for peace and cooperation between the two world religions.
