Faith and Order Commission, National Council of Churches of Christ in the USA
The Faith and Order Commission of the National Council of Churches of Christ in the USA (NCCUSA) provides a national forum for exploring ecumenical issues in the spirit of the international Commission on Faith and Order. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and other non-NCCUSA member traditions also participate in the dialogue. Meetings are held twice a year and organized in consultation periods of four years. Study themes for the current round of dialogue (launched in 2008) are justice and salvation, which emerged from earlier discussions on unity in mission, justification, and the nature and mission of the church. An earlier round culminated in the 2008 release of "The Authority of the Church in the World." The Faith and Order Commission also offers the "Faith Forum" series of resources for use in local dialogues.
