Roman Catholic Dialogue with the Seventh-day Adventists
Dialogue with the Seventh-day Adventists represents one of the Catholic Church's newest ecumenical initiatives. The Seventh-day Adventist Church does not hold memberships in any major ecumenical bodies (though it does participate in the Conference of Secretaries of the Christian World Communions); it does maintain relationships with the Lutheran World Federation, Mennonite World Conference, World Communion of Reformed Churches, and World Evangelical Alliance. Initial Catholic-Adventist consultations in Geneva from 2001 to 2003 concentrated on divergent Sabbath/Sunday practices and the theological consequences of different methods of biblical interpretation. Since then no additional formal dialogue initiatives have been launched.
