Public Scholarship and Advocacy

Scholars working in the field of religion know how important their work is to understanding the complex challenges facing our world today. Most global issues involve a religious component, yet there is little popular understanding of how religion factors into matters like conflict, peacebuilding, development, governance, and law. This project, part of the larger Public Scholars Project—a joint effort between the American Academy of Religion and the Religious Freedom Center of the Newseum Institute—encourages scholars to share their research in ways that reach the broader public and increase religious literacy.
