The United States Institute of Peace's "Special Report on Religion and Peacebuilding" notes the growing recognition of religious institutions’ role in conflict resolution and government partnerships. The report tracks the history of religious peacebuilding and identifies challenges in the present and future such as integration with secular initiatives, the inclusion of women and youth, diversity of traditions, and evaluation. The publication also traces the institutional history of USIP's Religion and Peacemaking Program.
