Parliament of the World's Religions

The Parliament of the World's Religions brings together representatives of diverse faith traditions for dialogue around ethical and theological questions as they relate to global policy challenges, including war, poverty, and threats to the environment. The first parliament, held in Chicago in 1893, initiated the now-thriving interreligious dialogue movement. The second parliament convened as a centennial celebration of the first, and parliaments are now held approximately every five years. This resource provides a window on meetings of the Parliament, beginning in Chicago in 1893 to the latest in Melbourne, Australia in 2009.
