Only decades after its formation in 1540, the Society of Jesus had active missions around the world. In their global engagement Jesuits have combined a commitment to spread the Gospel with an embrace of dialogue with different cultures and religions.

This symposium explored the Jesuit approach to mission and dialogue across the world's major regions, in historical and comparative perspective. It was part of Georgetown University's multi-year Jesuits and Globalization Project.
